Facebook posts have been getting shared like crazy of this new hair tool, questions are being raised and just the thought of a brush that can straighten in a couple of minutes, much quicker than a flat-iron, has everybody requesting a new gift for the upcoming holiday season.
The brush is from an Italian company called DAFNI and is a "hair straightening ceramic brush." The idea is similar to any other straightening tool - you slowly run the hot ceramic through your hair and it gets rid of any waves or kinks.
What DAFNI claims makes they're product better than competitors is that it has more surface area than the traditional straightener, which means that hair could be done in as little as two minutes. Plus since it's already a brush, the hair wouldn't get tangled, according to the beauty product company.
Why Is The Dafni Straightener Brush So Instantly Popular?
This new hair straightening brush is popular because of ease-of-use in our opinion. Beauty-conscious women are always looking for ways to change our look and style. Looking the same day after day gets boring. Even though we may not straighten often it's nice to have the ability to do so and do it quickly. So the question is…
Does the Dafni work on Kinkier Natural Black Hair?
Well, here is a video from a Facebook user named Kimberley Satterwhite, she posted her first time using it and she thought you might like that we share it with you right here. Check it out!
Be honest, what do you think of the results?
Given the texture of the little girl’s hair that it was demonstrated on, do you think this will work for your texture? It looks very good to us!
BUT.... BUT.... It costs $300 (Now down to $200) For $300 it needs to wash, condition and blow dry my hair too!
Here's Kimberly's (the mom) Comment From Her Video Post:
Sometimes things look so good you have to think, "That just can't be!" And "It's just too good to be true!" Like how I earn 6 figures as a stay at home mom. I just say, "Let's just Try it & see"! I understand how it feels to be a total skeptic of something! So I'm going to try out the 'Dafni Ceramic Straightening Brush'. DOES IT WORK?! You can see for yourself IF In Fact IT Works or not?! This takes the place of flat ironing and saves you MAJOR TIME! I am TOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!
NOTE: I was so excited to use this i didn't wash my daughters hair. She does have GEL in her hair i just ran it through really quick to test it. Imagine this on her CLEAN hair! WOW. I'm very happy with this product!
Here is everything you need to know about how to use a black tea rinse for shedding hair and stopping hair loss.
Black tea rinses can give your hair that extra growth boost that you desire, especially when you thoroughly cleanse and condition your hair.
According to many natural hair gurus this hair saving rinse absolutely works. So, for you tea heads out there who love a big cup of antioxidants to start your morning, you may want to give your hair and scalp a sip of it as well.
Whether you are looking to reduce shedding and add shine, elasticity, and bounce, there are a few rinses that you can use to help with your desired result. Check out this black tea rinse for hair method, and if you wish, add your own mixes to cater to your hair and beauty needs.
Black tea can be used to reduce hair shedding and save your locs. The caffeine in the better black tea brands help block DHT, the main hormone that is at fault for hair loss. Black tea actually contains more caffeine than coffee, and it works very well.
Here's what you do. Simply apply the black tea rinse after you thoroughly shampoo and/or condition your natural hair. Some naturals like to leave the rinse in. Other curlies like to apply the black tea rinse while they are deep conditioning their hair.
Black Tea Rinse For Hair Helps...
If you want to do a black tea rinse to stop shedding hair, here is what you will do:
Get 2-4 bags of black tea and steep them in hot, boiling water. Let them steep for a few hours, or overnight if needed. The stronger the brew, the better your hair results will be. Pour the black tea into a spray bottle, After you shampoo your natural hair, spray the black tea concoction onto your hair and scalp. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes.
Wash out the rinse and deep condition your hair. WARNING: The black tea rinse can actually dry out you hair, so it is important that you condition your hair afterwards. Do not skip that step, trust us. To ensure that your moisture is retained, try adding a top-notch natural hair deep conditioner on top of the tea rinse.
*Warning* Black tea is a natural hair dye. Be mindful that your hair color could possibly change.
Several famous YouTubers have confidently claimed that this black tea rinse has worked wonders for them with just one use. Some say they religiously do this black tea rinse every 2 weeks, and have received more than amazing results. Of course, every woman's head of hair is different. But this is good, trust it.

Simple & clear Tria hair removal laser 4X review: Here's the deal. When using the Tria laser hair removal 4X system, you can start seeing major improvements within a matter of 10-12 weeks.
Some women say that they actually forgot to shave for up to a week at a time and the hair the remains is so fine that it's not even noticeable. But it all depends on your hair type and where the hair is on your body as well.
There are some tougher areas to work on, like the hair on the big toes for hairy men, areas like that are sure to need the complete 6 months of treatments to get the job done. But since it is so easy to do, you can do it from the privacy of your own home. Not a big deal.
Paying The Big Bucks... Is Tria Worth It?
We priced laser hair removal procedures in salons recently.
And depending on the area you live, it's not going to be cheap. In the Florida area, it is about $500 for 6 treatments on smaller areas. That would include your bikini line, underarms is another area…and so forth. The cost adds up quickly. And what they don’t tell you up front…is that you will still need to come back into the salon later for follow up visits. That is the worst part for people that don't enjoy trips to the salon, or the repeated out-of-pocket costs that you'll pay. Salons are also known for raising their prices as they see fit, so don't get comfortable with any "set prices".
The Tria Laser Hair 4X Removal System is the ONLY at home laser that can give you the same permanent results as the professional systems found at dermatologists and salons. Right now, the Tria at home hair removal system is on sale on Amazon for only $395 and Amazon also has a very helpful Tria hair removal laser 4x review page. But, back to the price, that is a big cost for some lower income people, but for others, they realize that they will pay out less money over a matter of months. How?
Comparing Upfront Tria Hair Removal Cost VS. Year After Year Costs
Think of the price of a razor each week (that is if you change your razor weekly. Some of us change it more often), a can of shaving cream/lotion each month.
If we go with the average cost of a refill razor head being $2.50 and the average can of Shaving Cream/lotion being $3.50. The prices add up like this:
52 Razor Blades = $130
12 Cans of Shaving Cream/Lotion = $42
Total for each and every year = $172
You can see how this will just continue to add up year after year after year.
You could actually pay for this Tria hair removal laser 4X system with the money you'd spend on 2 years of shaving supplies, and even better than that, be done with shaving FOREVER in just 6 months! If you're anything like the rest of us, never needing to shave again is worth more than can be explained by numbers.
So, every 2 weeks, what will you be in for with your Tria hair removal laser 4X?
STEP 1- Prepare. Thoroughly cleanse, shave and towel-dry your skin.
STEP 2- Customize. The Tria Laser has 5 comfort levels that will help you customize treatments to your personal comfort level.
STEP 3- Apply. Place the laser tip on your skin. After each beep, just lift and place the laser tip about 1/4 of an inch and move it over the areas you wish to treat.
Normal sized legs take about 10 minutes each to do, underarms and bikini lines usually take about 5 minutes total. So, you are finished in about 25 minutes. You'll only need to do this once every 2 weeks. Many users report that halfway through their treatments they see quite a difference in slowed hair growth.
This Tria hair removal laser 4X review is meant for the men and women who have the money for such an item, it just works. Most people hate shaving and I especially don't like wasting money on shaving supplies.
We received a Tria Laser Hair Removal 4X System for review purposes. We are under no obligation to post a positive review or do anything. We also have no financial backing or linking to their company. If a product stinks, we will tell you. Period.
When the QRedew came on the market, it was different from other products. Hair product review after review talked about how it could be used as a moisturizer, a curl refresher AND as a deep conditioner tool.
The Q-Redew handheld hair steamer is great for naturals because it uses warm steam as mist to enhance your hair’s natural texture and volume. The Q-Redew hydrates, reshapes and restyles dry hair in minutes according to its site.
What Are Q Redew Reviews Raving About?
Ease of Use – Women are to busy to be bothered with complicated hair equipment, people have lives to live, jobs to work and kids to raise. The Q-Redew hair steamer is super easy to set up and use. You simply fill the water reservoir, plug it in, and wait for the red light to say it is ready. The bonus is you can steam your hair in sections. If you are styling your hair, you steam, add your moisturizers, and style that section. If you are interrupted, you can stop and continue where you left off.
Works as a Super Moisturizer – So as you should already know, heat helps moisturizers get into the hair shaft. The Q Redew reviews have been claiming that this machine is like a hand-held super-moisturizer. When your hair needs a serious shot of moisture, naturals have been turning to the QRedew to handle the job. For example, If you have an old, dry twist out. You can just steam it, add a premium leave-in conditioner, and seal with an oil. Some naturals choose to do this instead of co-washing their natural hair.
Curl-Refreshing Ability – While water is moisturizing for natural hair, too much can cause tangling and excess shrinkage. This is a problem many naturalistas have to fight against. With the QRedew Steamer, you can quickly refresh your kinks and curls without applying too much water and causing shrinkage. For many naturals this advantage is a game changer.
The Q-Redew Work as a Detangler – Detangling my thick, dense hair is a battle that many naturals dread. Who doesn't HATE detangling? Well, according to the Q-redew reviews, when you use the natural hair steamer, it just melts through tangles with ease.
Safer Way to Stretch Your Hair – Many Q-Redew reviews mentioned that this tool is amazing for stretching your hair. When you steam an older do, your hair can get that moisturized blow out look!
Here are a Few Q-Redew Reviews From Other Naturals
First I want to say sorry for this long review but there is a good reason for it. Ever since I found out about this product I have been trying to come up with clever ways to steam my hair without shelling out all the money for the Q-Redew. I tried using the steamer from my Caruso Steam Rollers, it was very uncomfortable and there wasn't enough steam for me. So I went out and bought a My Little Steamer, for $20, and there was a LOT of steam coming out of that little thing and it got pretty hot.
It worked for me but I started to notice something on my hair I have never seen, small white dots about 1/4 in. from the bottom of my strands, and when I pulled on them, my hair would break off. I looked up possible reasons why this could be happening and I found out that these are usually caused by using heat on wet hair, that causes bubbles to form on the strands of hair, called bubble hair.
You may be wondering why this is a part of my review, it is a warning to you all. I don't use heat on my hair very often, I feel that the extreme heat from this small steamer (My Little Steamer particularly) is what caused these bubbles on my hair, and I have seen reviews where women say they use this steamer on their hair, and I would not recommend it. That steamer is definitely good for clothes, but not for hair (but that is whole other review). Using that streamer was the only thing in my regimen that had changed over the 2 weeks I was using it and noticed the damage to my hair. I really want to stress that in this review.
Ladies although you may have a found a loop hole around buying this device, you might end up experiencing the damage I experienced just to save a few bucks. Finally this brings me to my review of the Q-Redew. I know the price is scarey, but go sign up on the Q-Redew mailing list and wait on a good coupon, I used a $20 off coupon I got for a Black Friday sale, so in the end, the damage to my hair from the clothes steamer and the coupon made me decide to fork out the money for this device. I received it today, once they shipped it I got it within a few days, a lot sooner than I had expected.
I have 3c/4a medium porosity hair, and I am working on 4 day old dirty hair that has been in an afro puff 3 of those days and today I am rocking flattened, limp, slept on twist out from last night...I plugged this baby in, waited for it to heat up and went to work. I am very pleased with the results, my hair looking good and full and happy. It's looking like a good third day hair where my curls are full and yet still a little defined but not a matted mess. I only had to refill this once to complete my hair. I am excited about using this for my detangling and deep conditioning sessions. It is a lot smaller than I expected. I like the vintage mint green color, and I am very pleased that I decided to purchase this product. I do feel like women who like crunchy or stiff ultra defined curls may not like this product. I personally like that it give my hair volume and makes it look fuller within minutes. I don't need ultra defined curls I just want big happy healthy hair. I only knocked off 1 star because of the price.
I have NEVER had a better product. I use this thing at least twice a week. I steam, detangle, condition, and use it as a facial treatment some nights. I LOVVVVE it! I have 2 different textures in my hair, fine 4b on top and thick 4a on bottom. The texture on top always breaks no matter the technique. I have maximum hydrated, curly and tightly coiled, wide toothed combed, water only, hennaed, and oiled and sealed, It still breaks when I detangle. This Q-Redew has cut my breakage down and my anxiety. I have retained my entire 1 and 1/2 inches over the past 3 months. I even use it on my kids hair who all have different textures on the chart.
I dont have to spend dreadful time in the bathtub detangling their hair. I pull out the Q-Redew and its detangled, oiled, and styled in 10 minutes at the most AND it looks, feels, and is healthy. I can not express how much I love this thing. If you are having issues with your hair, if you have tried every method in the book, if you have curly, coily, or kinky hair then this tool is for you!
The only con I have experienced is that I have to refill the thing after each section of hair. To cut down on the annoyance of that, I keep a water bottle and fill up after each section. Refilling is not enough for me to remove a star. I fill like if the receptacle was bigger, the steamer could not be handheld, so I'm cool with it.
I hate screwing with my hair...there, said it. I am not one to spend an hour fussing and fussing ---I want to wash it, scrunch some product in it and go. And I want to have my hair look good the next day as well. Yup, asking for a lot. Well, with the Q-Redew Steamer, I can spend 5 minutes or less on my naturally curly hair on day two (often day 3 as well) and go. This item is so worth the money---it really works!
For my 4c hair that constantly needs moisturizing, this little gadget is simple and easy to use in the mornings. I do the LCO method almost every morning so this really helps. And it absolutely helps with detangling. I use it for everything. If you have 4c (really 4e) type hair, then you need this. Trust me!!
This product is easy to use. Fill the reservoir, plug it up, wait a few minutes... then bam!!! it's ready for use. It doesn't do as great a job as the hooded steamers, but its great for a midweek moisture booster.

So let's get to it. Our 3rd family member natural hair journey....
My Natural Hair Journey #3: Brittany
My name is Brittany and I have been natural for 2 years now.
I stopped putting perms in my head because my hair was breaking out, I was tired of wasting money and I wanted curly hair. Going natural was the best decision I could ever make. My hair has grown a lot during these two years.
I love the versatility of my natural hair. Three times out of the year I will flat iron it but that is it. The rest of the time I will flat twist it.
I have tried to do Bantu knots, or roller sets but hair just comes out looking a mess. I don't use any type of pills to help make my hair grow I just use the LOC method. My favorite products are coconut oil, cantu leave in conditioner, lotta body setting lotion and lotta body curl and style milk. I am still trying to find the right products for my hair. As a natural I had no idea of the maintenance to maintain it.
I flat twist it daily and every now and then I will wear an afro. I think I have 3 different curl patterns but I love my curls. I get a lot of compliments on my worst hair days lol.
Going Natural Wasn't Always Easy
My first year was the hardest I contemplated perming my hair several times. I would go online looking for natural hairstyles and try them only for them to not work for me and that became extremely frustrating.
Going natural wasn't the easiest thing at because people that were use to seeing me with straight, long, uneven not healthy hair were negative.
It brought my self esteem down but I am over that now and so are they. I love my different curl patterns and I wouldn't change a thing about my hair. If anyone knows good moisturizers please let me know.
My hair still has a dry look to it and I don't know how to fix that. Love the skin your in and your curl pattern. Don't give up on your natural hair journey.
Transitioning from relaxed to natural hair when beginning your natural hair journey is a common experience.
To go from permed to natural hair, you have two options: Transitioning or The Big Chop. Which one you choose is entirely up to you. There's no textbook right way or wrong way to begin your natural hair journey. It doesn’t matter how you get there, it's about getting there and doing what you're most comfortable with doing.
The transition from relaxed hair to natural hair can be a challenge - sometimes dealing with split ends, odd curly bits, and some hair breakage. But don't give up, it's not called a "journey" for nothing, all journeys have some bumps in the road. But rest assured that your hair is on a route to recovery. Getting back to your "natural" beauty is a beautiful thing and an interesting road to self discovery.
What Does Transitioning From Relaxed to Natural Hair Mean?
Like we talked about earlier, transitioning is a way to avoid cutting all of your hair off, doing "The Big Chop" as it is called.
Transitioning your hair to natural is the process of eliminating all chemical treatments and allowing your natural hair to grow out while gradually trimming the chemically-processed ends away. It takes time and patience but for many women it is worth the wait because they may be uncomfortable big chopping.
Most women who transition to natural hair slowly trim their relaxed ends away as they grow the relaxer/perm out of their hair, this also helps to keep breakage manageable and it gives your hair a more healthy appearance.
Pros of Transitioning From Relaxed to Natural Hair :
You have the time to learn about your particular hair type.
If you are not comfortable with short hair, then you can avoid that adjustment period, and avoid the wait of growing your hair back out.
During transitioning you have the time to perfect your hair styling skills.
Cons of Transitioning From Relaxed to Natural Hair :
The texture of your hair will not be consistent: which means if you decide to wear your hair in a braid out or twist out style the root of your hair might be curly while your ends will be bone straight (To avoid this simply roll the ends of your hair with rods or rollers).
The process of transitioning takes longer than if you just did “the big chop”.
How to Transition From Relaxed to Natural Hair In 7 Steps
Transitioning from Relaxed to Natural Hair Rule #1
Keep your hair hydrated. The biggest struggle with transitioning your hair is preventing breakage due to dryness and damage. Do what you can to keep your hair conditioned and fully hydrated by using a conditioner on a regular basis. Every night before bed, thoroughly moisturize your hair with either coconut oil or olive oil and let it soak in good for 30 minutes to 1 hour. This will help replenish your hair with nutrients that will strengthen the demarcation line (the part of the hair where the transition is happening).
When you wash your hair, add a little conditioner to your strands prior to shampooing. This will help to keep the shampoo from stripping all the moisture. Then, condition as usual.
Consider using a leave-in conditioner for your hair during the day. Apply some to your hair before you style it, paying careful attention to the demarcation line.
Transitioning from Relaxed to Natural Hair Rule #2
Use a deep conditioner regularly. Deep conditioning treatments take moisturizing your hair to the next level. Although deep conditioners are usually only used once a month or so, you need to do it more often when transitioning from relaxed to natural hair. Purchase a deep-conditioning treatment for naturals and apply it to your hair at least once every 7 days. Or if you have the money to do so, you can go to the hair salon once a week and get deep-conditioning treatments regularly.
Follow the bottle instructions for your deep conditioner.
If your money is low, another great alternative to a deep conditioner is using mayonnaise. Although it sounds a little gross, it can work wonders on adding moisture to your hair. Apply it to your hair once a week for 30 minutes to an hour.
If you decide to have a professional deep condition your hair, try looking for someone who specializes in transitioning hair. They’ll be able to provide you with products and services designed specifically to meet your needs.
Transitioning from Relaxed to Natural Hair Rule #3
Don't put heat on your hair, it's a natural hair killer. In general, hot tools should be avoided if you’re trying to protect your hair. Using curling irons, flat irons, and blow driers can stress your hair and cause breakage, specifically at the line of demarcation. While transitioning your hair, do all that you can to allow it to be as natural as possible. Avoid hot tools, and if necessary, limit their use to only one day a week at most.
If you absolutely must use hot tools, keep them away from the demarcation line and avoid using them on your roots where your natural grow-out is forming.
Transitioning from Relaxed to Natural Hair Rule #4
Limit the amount of times you wash your hair. This goes hand in hand with adding moisture to your hair; washing your hair frequently strips your hair of its natural oils that help keep it strong. So limit hair washing and some women have had great success with co-washing natural hair. If you’re able, only wash your hair once every 7-8 days so that there is plenty of time for your natural oils to thoroughly coat each strand of hair and bring them to life.
Transitioning from Relaxed to Natural Hair Rule #5
Promote hair growth with supplements. Maintaining your vitamins and minerals is important to general health (in addition to hair health), but taking certain supplements can strengthen your hair and speed up hair growth super fast. Doctors recommend taking biotin or viviscal (read reviews for viviscal here...)- these are supplements used specifically for promoting hair and nail growth.
Additionally, making sure you have enough vitamin D and vitamin A will help your hair too.
Transitioning from Relaxed to Natural Hair Rule #6
Avoid putting chemicals in your hair. Although it may seem like a given, you to stay away from all perms and hair relaxers when trying to transition your hair. In addition, stay away from hair dyes and bleach, as these cause significant damage to your hair, causing it to break and become frizzy. Look for all natural alternatives to chemicals you typically use, as these will be much safer on your scalp and strands than harsh chemicals are.
You now know exactly how to transition from relaxed hair to natural while beginning natural hair journeys. It's a truly beautiful thing to see the amazing styles and natural beauty on display. Please feel free to ask more questions of other natural in the Natural Hair Lovers - BlackHairOMG Group!
When Angelica Sweeting heard her young daughter wishing for blonde hair and white skin similar to her doll's, she decided to create "The Angelica Doll" for little girls with curly hair, wider noses, and fuller lips.
The doll comes with hair that you can twist and knot just like real-life natural hair.
Sweeting's Naturally Perfect Dolls Kickstarter campaign has already raised $23,000 of the $25,000 needed to launch production of the doll, which promotes positive beauty ideals and self-acceptance for young girls.
Sweeting and her daughters tested The Angelica Doll's hair for eight months with common natural hair practices, such as twisting, bantu knotting, and curling, to make sure little girls could style and wash their doll's hair exactly how they would do their own.
Lee's Article Highlights:
♦ First off, I want to to stress the importance of supporting Angelica's business. If you have the means to do so you can help her get these dolls made for thousands of little girls by contributing to her kickstarter campaign at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/angelica/the-angelica-doll-a-natural-hair-doll-for-young-gi and hey, I know it's hard out here on these skreets (yeah, I said SKREETS), so if you don't have money to help her get these dolls made then just share this article. Someone else who reads this might contribute and it will be because you let them know about it through sharing this story.
♦ I always love products like these and BlackHairOMG is known for promoting these kinds of businesses and products because they make a difference, I just recently wrote about the coloring book for natural hair kids. When children grow up rarely seeing a positive reflection of themselves in the things that they are entertained by it has a negative psychological effect.
Angelica's daughter thought that the standard of being beautiful was the dolls that she played with and nothing else. Little girls adore their dolls and so she began to adore what she was not and undervalue what and who she is. It's not a conscientious choice she made, it is the mental conditioning that comes from being exposed only to what is the opposite of yourself and being told that it's the most precious thing without seeing any alternatives. Natural hair dolls gives the girls a chance to see beautiful representations of themselves.
♦ This serves as a lesson to myself and you as well as far as business goes too. When you see something missing, something that is needed... MAKE IT. It's much more effective than wishing and hoping for something and it's a great opportunity to build a business, make money while giving people something they need and want. More people need to have the entrepreneurial spirit like Angelica. I'm supporting her, I hope you will too.
Curl Centric has created a new natural hair styles for kids coloring book to give children a positive portrayal of curly-haired people, so they don’t feel isolated by one of their defining features.
Unfortunately, kinky curly hair is often considered a nuisance for those who have it, but its true potential is far more varied than straight hair can be. Unfortunately for curly-haired children, their minority status can see them subject to bullying and derision. As such, it is important that this is counterbalanced with positive messages.
Because the media can't be counted on to portray curly hair in a positive light, people have been left looking for alternatives, and Curl Centric has provided one. They have just published a new Natural Hair Coloring Book for children with curly hair.
The Curly Kids Coloring Book is a new product, and was created because Curl Centric understands the importance of representation. It is important for little girls with textured hair to see images that look like them. The coloring book features more than thirty different images, including action shots, mermaids, princesses and ballerinas with natural hair.
The girls in the coloring books have also arranged their hair in a variety of styles that range from cornrow braids, puffs, two strand twists, bantu knots, wash and gos, locs and many more, to show girls with curly hair the amazing potential their hair has to be defined and redefined.
A spokesperson for Curl Centric explained, “Those with naturally curly hair in the media tend to straighten it, leaving little girls without role models. The coloring book is designed to fill that void and offset the lack of representation. This is just the beginning however, and showing girls it’s possibly to have a curly-haired princess or action hero will open them up to a world of possibilities for their own hair, many of which can be found on our website. The book is available now at Amazon for $5.99.
Lee's Article Highlights:
I wholeheartedly agree with what Curl Centric is doing, they realize that little girls need to see themselves and associate representations of themselves as something pleasant and positive. Natural hair styles for kids is something to be proud of and they need to know that as they grow up. I look forward to seeing more and more products like this in the future, they are long overdue.
If you think that products like this are important, you need to show your support and let others know about it too. Many positive products die on the shelf because they don't get the same level of attention as less-valuable products that get promoted.
The Curly Kids Coloring Book contains more than 30 coloring pages for little girls. The coloring book features a wide variety of natural hair styles for kids, the little girls are wearing natural hair buns, puffs, braids, afros (or low styles), updos, twist-outs, and bantu-knots. Get the colored pencils, crayons, water colors and makers ready. The coloring book is recommended for children age 1 year and older.
